Question: What reports are available out of the box?

J.D. Meier, Jason Taylor, Alex Mackman, Prashant Bansode

Answer

The set of reports depends on which process template you are using. To view the available reports right-click the Reports node in the Team Explorer window and click Show Report Site.

Team projects that use the MSF for CMMI Process Improvement project template have the following reports:
  • Actual Quality vs. Planned Velocity (bugs found per requirements resolved)
  • Bug Rates (Progress in finding, fixing and closing bugs)
  • Bugs by Priority (Number of bugs active, found and fixed by priority)
  • Bugs Found without Corresponding Tests
  • Builds (build summary with test result details)
  • Issues and Blocked Work Items
  • Load Test Summary
  • Project Velocity (direct comparison of resolve and close rates)
  • Quality Indicators (number of tests by result vs active bugs, code churn and coverage)
  • Reactivations (number of reactivated work items related to total work items)
  • Regressions (List of test current failing that previously passed)
  • Related Work Items (list of work items by iteration with linked work items)
  • Renaming Work (Active, resolved and closed work items by day)
  • Requirement Details (requirements with work item task/test result detail)
  • Requirements Test History and Overview (Progress of testing against requirements)
  • Test Failing without Active Bugs
  • Tests Passing with Active Bugs
  • Triage (proposed work items by type over time)
  • Unplanned Work (amount of work added since start of iteration vs. planned)
