Migrate from Other Source-Control Systems to Team Foundation Server Source Control

- J.D. Meier, Jason Taylor, Alex Mackman, Prashant Bansode

You can manually export files from the version-control system you are migrating from and then import them into Team Foundation Server Version Control. If you need to preserve file history or other attributes from the version-control system you are migrating from, you can use the TFS Migration and Synchronization Toolkit, available at http://www.codeplex.com/MigrationSyncToolkit, to write your own migration tool.

Microsoft is currently working on a ClearCase converter. When this converter is ready, it will be announced on the TFS Migration blog at http://blogs.msdn.com/tfs_migration

Component Software has created a converter that is compatible with GNU RCS, CS-RCS, GNU CVS, Subversion (SVN), and Visual SourceSafe (VSS).
